All that Jazz in Malaga

There’s plenty of room for jazz in Malaga and the city has strong links to the jazz scene with several well-established jazz bands and clubs. Malaga is also home to the only jazz school in Andalucia – some 400 children have been taught here to date so there’s a whole generation of new jazz musicians waiting to make their debut. This autumn, jazz fans are in for a treat when the 34th edition of the Malaga Jazz Festival sounds into town. In this blog post, we look at jazz in Malaga generally and how you can make the most of it.

Jazz associations in Malaga

Centro de Artes y Música Moderna de Málaga – known as the CAMM, this local music school brings together jazz musicians in the city for jam sessions and concerts. They hold regular jam sessions on at their venue where you can also catch jazz concerts featuring local and visiting international artists. If you understand Spanish, don’t miss their jazz master classes. See the CAMM Facebook page for details.
