Calle Larios Christmas Lights, Malaga: Show Times and Where to Watch
Calle Larios is Malaga’s central Christmas light-show location. The public street display is free to watch; you do not need to buy a ticket. Plan your evening around the announced programme, allow time for crowds and check your journey home.
For all the info and inspo, read our Christmas FAQs.
What the show is
Calle Larios is Malaga’s main shopping street, running from Plaza de la Constitucion to the Alameda Principal. Each Christmas, the city council covers it with an overhead canopy of LED lights, redesigned every other year around a different theme. Several times a night, the lights dim and relight in time with a soundtrack of Christmas music. The programme determines the show length and repeat times; use the official 2026 announcement when available.

Practical tips
- Arrive 15-20 minutes before a show to get a clear view of the street.
- Position yourself at either end (Alameda Principal or Plaza de la Constitución) for a view of the entire street.
- Later performances can be less crowded than the first evening slot. Check the announced 2026 times before choosing one.
- Avoid the announced opening night if you dislike crowds; the 2026 opening date remains to be confirmed.
- Public transport is easier than driving; parking in the centre is busy and expensive.
- Combine the visit with the Cathedral videomapping and nearby Christmas market stalls.
- Large pushchairs struggle in the crowds; a baby carrier is more practical.
- Keep an eye on your belongings in the crowds.
