This privacy notice explains what personal data (PD) and non-personal data (NPD) we may collect from you, how we collect it, how we protect it, how we may share it, how you can access and change it, and how you can limit our sharing of it. In general terms, you control the amount and type of information that you provide to us when using our website. Our legal basis for collecting and processing your personal data (PD) on Signup Forms (e.g. for the Newsletter and/or Media Pack) is based on consent.

You do not have to give us your PD to access and use most of the website. However, if you do not give us enough PD, you may not be able to access and use all our products and services. 

We collect the following PD: 

Automatic information 

When you browse the website, technical information may be processed, including referral information, approximate device and browser information, operating system information, IP-related connection data and browsing activity on the website. Some of this information is technically necessary to deliver the website. Audience measurement, advertising, remarketing or similar tracking is handled according to your cookie and consent choices where consent is required.

Entry information

Buying products and services

If you buy products (e.g. downloadable guides) from us, your first and last name, email address, physical address (for billing purposes only), credit card or other payment information and other information listed are collected for payment and communication purposes. Guide to Malaga can only access your first and last name and email address. The payment information (e.g. credit card details and physical address) is collected by the secure payment system (PayPal and Stripe) in operation on our website. Guide to Malaga has no access to credit card or other payment information or your physical address.

Use of your credit card or other payment methods

To buy products from our website (e.g. downloadable guides) you have to provide a credit card or payment method. We use third-party billing services (PayPal and Stripe) and have no control over these services. We make all commercially reasonable efforts to ensure your payment details including your credit card number are kept strictly confidential by using only third-party billing services. They in turn use industry-standard encryption technology to protect your credit card number from unauthorised use. However, by accepting this privacy policy statement you understand and agree that we are in no way responsible for any misuse of your credit card number.

How your information is used

We use the information we receive from you to:

  • Offer you information about Guide to Malaga (e.g. through our Media Pack) and Malaga (e.g. through our Newsletter).

You may unsubscribe at any time via the Unsubscribe option in the newsletter or by sending an email to sam@guidetomalaga.com with the subject line: Unsubscribe.

We collect email addresses using MailerLite, a secure email-campaign service. Their terms and conditions state that “We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect Personal Information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction, taking into account the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the Personal Information. We reserve the right to monitor your lists, content and response data from time to time to make sure they comply with our TOS, we will never share, sell or rent your customer data to anyone for any reason.

Our data storage center is in the European Union and has information storage security certificate (ISO 27001) so you can rest assured that your Subscribers data is safe with us. MailerLite, Inc. has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Data Privacy Framework Principles. When providing Services to Customers outside the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, MailerLite, Inc. operates in accordance with the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks (‘DPF’), as well as the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, as stipulated by the US Department of Commerce. “

Communications 

When we want to share information with you, we use the email address you provided when you registered. Sharing information with Facebook and Google for marketing purposes

Where we use Meta/Facebook, Google or similar advertising tools for remarketing, conversion measurement or similar audience features, this is subject to the cookie and consent choices available on the website where consent is required.
