La Deriva
On the western edge of the Soho district (handy for CAC Malaga or if you’re getting the train), La Deriva offers excellent tapas and sharing plates in a modern, airy venue with funky ceilings. It’s famous for its ensaladilla rusa (Russian salad), some rate as the best in town, as well as its steak tartare and risotto. The restaurant also specialises in cheeses (over 50 types) and wine (over 200 on the list). There’s an outside terrace on the often busy street, but the palm trees are great for shade in the summer. They open first thing for breakfasts too and the coffee’s good. Tapas from €3, portions from €9.
