Alexso
Tucked away in a quiet side street in the city centre, Alexso offers fine dining that not only satisfies your appetite, but also nourishes your soul. Cuisine at this restaurant in Malaga is all about a journey of sensations, with foodie delights to feast your senses on at every turn. Not for nothing is Alexso’s motto, “Cooking Sensations”.
What’s on the menu at Alexso?
Chef Jose Antonio Moyano transforms fresh produce into dishes with innovative twists. The menu at his restaurant showcases his skills as an accomplished chef and his talent for culinary magic. The cooking sensations are the result.
The menu comes divided into dishes to whet your appetite – the foie micuit with lemon, mango and crispy pumpkin is one of the stars in this section.

You’ll also find achovies, veal steak tartare and the house sardine spit. You can also start with soups.
A good restaurant always distinguishes itself for its meat and fish offerings, and Alexso is no exception. In the “Sailing the Seas” department, you have a choice of five dishes, all with a magical touch. For example, the sturgeon comes with pineapple chutney and pistachios, while the cod confit gets a dash of Japanese barbecue sauce.

Pork reigns supreme in the meat section, with a choice of Iberian or suckling pig. The duck magret completes this quintet.
Desserts bring perhaps the most surprises and include ‘salmon’ sandwich with ‘chips’. And there’s even a ‘Spanish omelette’, proving that nothing is ever quite what it seems (but totally delicious at the same time).
Portions come as halves or wholes and sharing plates is encouraged – and gives you the chance to try several different dishes.

If you fancy a tour of Cooking Sensations, try one of the tasting menus. The Alexso Route offers 8 courses for €40 and the Cooking Sensations Route has 11 dishes for €55. Both come with pairing options. (And must rank among the best-value tasting menus in Malaga!)
Fine wining is also a given
The wine list runs long and includes the perfect tipple to accompany the dishes. Ask Rocío, the sommelier for recommendations – she really knows her stuff!
