New in autumn 2016, Alexso has fast gained a faithful following. It’s off the beaten track (off Calle Álamos) and somewhat small, but the food more than makes up for the lack of space.

Chef Jose Antonio Moyano has taken traditional local recipes and given almost of all them an innovative twist. All is definitely not quite what it seems when it comes to the dishes that include an invisible fried egg as a taster, a Malaga salchichón sausage éclair and ‘salmon’ sandwich with ‘chips’ for dessert.
Portions come as halves or wholes and sharing plates is encouraged – and gives you the chance to try lots of different dishes. Service is excellent and very professional. Book to be sure of a table. From €10.
