Verum

Meat eaters are in for a real treat at this restaurant, aka as “The Temple of Meat” and just 15 minutes walk from the seafront at La Caleta. Beef cuts – think Aberdeen Angus, Limousin, Charolais… are grilled to perfection on the house grill, fired by oak wood logs, and other meats, such as suckling lamb and pig, are tenderly slow cooked.

Aside from the meat, Verum also has an extensive tapas menu – its Russian salad has award-winning status and there are lots of sharing plates, including a good range for vegetarians. Fish lovers are in for a treat too and when it’s in season, the wild bluefin tuna is a must-try. And if hearty stews and game are your thing, request a dish in season, Monday to Thursday.

The wine list runs long – do ask for recommendations, especially if you like pairing your food and wine.

Verum has a small outside terrace and two pleasant indoor dining areas.
