Dani Carnero (also chef at La Cosmopolita and La Cosmo) gained his first Michelin star for Kaleja in 2022, renewing it in 2023. Traditional home cooking gets a very modern twist in the form of two tasting menus, priced at €95 and €125.
Fresh local produce dominates but not necessarily in a form you’d recognise. The tripe, for example, is cod, beans come with carbonara and Iberian pork gets a palo cortado marinade and a truffle Chantilly side. All three menus can be paired to perfection or let the maître d advise you on the right wine. Service is first class in this small venue with elegant but simple décor.
