Villa Alicia

If you’re on a budget and fancy staying in a period townhouse, Villa Alicia could be for you. It’s classed as a guest house and located in La Victoria area of Malaga, north of the city centre. Rooms are comfortable and clean, plus you can enjoy the lovely terrace or peaceful interior patio.

Villa Alicia is near the Basilica Santa Maria de la Victoria, at the north end of Calle Victoria. Malaga’s tourist attractions are around 25 minutes away on foot or you can catch the No 1 or C2 bus into the old quarter.

Allow 30 minutes to reach Malaga Port and another 10 or 15 to get to La Malagueta beach. Public transport connections to the Airport aren’t so handy and involve getting a bus to the Alameda Principal and then another bus or the Cercanías train. Taxis are another option.

The area is tranquil because you’re some distance from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Views from Villa Alicia take in the woods on the foothills of the Gibralfaro Fortress and the Montes de Málaga mountains.

All rooms come with period features such as high ceilings, picture windows and hydraulic tiled floors. The decor is vibrant – maybe request a room with more muted tones if the brilliant reds and greens are a little too much.

The two rooms on the second floor are the best and have private terraces with views to the mountains or Malaga city centre. Seven other rooms have their own bathroom, while there are four with a shared bathroom.

As well as free wifi, guests can also use:

  • The communal kitchen to make meals.
  • The terrace for meals or relaxing.
  • The interior patio (great in the summer heat)
  • The living room.

Why stay at Villa Alicia in Malaga?
